Position Summary / Purpose

Reporting directly to the Tooling & Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for the continuous operation of machinery and equipment. Liaising with the production group and tooling technicians you will be responding to breakdowns and completing scheduled planned maintenance. Working predominantly on power presses and their auxiliary equipment you will be required to have general knowledge on electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and PLC systems. 

 

 

 

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities (This list is not exhaustive and employees are expected to carry out other duties that may reasonably be required)

  • Ensuring all PPMs are carried out to a timely satisfactory measure.
  • Electrical and mechanical fault finding and repair.
  • Helping to develop new maintenance strategies to improve operational efficiencies.
  • Updating machinery records utilising CMMS
  • Support production activities to meet overall O.E.E. objectives.
  • Installation of plant equipment both mechanically and electrically
  • Working alongside contractor and suppliers
  • Ensuring the presses, tools, auxiliary equipment, and production area are kept in a clean and safe condition.
  • Reporting any faults or at-risk conditions with the machinery or working conditions to ensure they are rectified to maintain a safe workplace.
  • Ensuring all tasks are carried in a safe and professional manner following SOP’s.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities to improve safety and productivity.
  • Participate in individual and team based continuous activities.
  • Adhering to all health and safety regulations
  • Supporting apprentices when required

 

 

   

 

 

 

Scope / Limits of Authority

  • Shift work – including nights.

Qualifications/ Experience

Essential

Desirable

  • Industrial Millwright Mechanic or Industrial Electrician
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
  • The ability to fault find and resolve on electrical and mechanical equipment and systems.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Knowledge of OMRON, Siemens and Mitsubishi PLCs
  • Previous experience in food packaging manufacturing environment
  • Power press experience
